Function: Test Cell


Position Summary:
As an A&P Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining aircraft engines, components, and systems per FAA and customer specifications. Safely perform Jet Engine Testing according to the operational processes and procedures. Performing inspections during assembly of parts and after repair or installations of components. Documenting maintenance procedures to include component damage, component origin, condition of component, components, or equipment. Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Ensure we deliver a quality product without defects to our customer base.


Hours : 2 PM- 12:30 AM, Monday-Thursday.

Compensation: Second shifts are awarded with a shift differential of 5 % per hour worked.


Key responsibilities/essential functions include:


  • Safely perform jet engine testing per operational processes and procedures
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Maintain or repair some or all the following: Aircraft Engines, Components, and systems in accordance with FAA and customer specifications
  • Complete a part tag for each engine component which maintenance was performed
  • Perform operational checks of engine systems to determine if a problem exists. Logically examine the problems and determine the most cost-effective way to fix the problem while maintaining the highest level of safety
  • Inspect parts, surfaces, or operations of engine shop equipment to identify wear beyond acceptable limits, material/manufacturing defects, corrosion, or other potential sources of failure
  • Route removed parts to provide adequate information on a routing tag
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of the information on a routing tag
  • Compare objects to one and another using a standard to detect flaws and imperfections quickly and accurately. Apply all parameters of wear conditions and operational tolerances
  • Select and use basic tools and equipment to assemble, adjust, calibrate, repair, or test various machines and equipment

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Aircraft & Powerplant Certificate & Valid Driver’s License
  • Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Willing to work rotating or fixed shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to take initial drug and alcohol testing as well as be in a random drug and alcohol program
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing up to 70 lbs. May involve the use of hands, arm, back, stomach, shoulders, legs, or combination of these muscle groups
  • Ability to bend, twist, or reach with body, arms, or legs
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience testing Jet Engines in a Test Cell
  • Hands-on Experience using a DACS (Data Acquisition Control System)
  • 5+ yrs. Experience in Engine MRO operations
  • 5+ yrs. experience in tearing down, inspecting, repairing, and returning to service CFM56-7B, CFM56-3, CFM56-5B engines
  • Ability to problem-solve, with knowledge of six sigma tools, 5S, or other problem-solving methodology to deliver solutions and drive creative new ideas
  • Expert written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate in a straightforward manner. Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness
