Coles County Airport Authority is hiring a full-time A&P Technician for the Coles County Memorial Airport in Mattoon, Illinois.

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining safe and efficient work in compliance with FAA regulations on aircraft for various departments, including but not limtied to the flight school aircraft, managed hangar customers, charter aircraft and clients outside of the normal day-to-day operations of the Coles County Memorial Airport FBO, Coles County Aviation. The position is accountable for ensuring each aircraft is properly repaired (airworthy) and ready for clients before releasing the aircraft from the maintenance hangar. Additionally, they will sign off on individual aircraft through logbook entries, assist co-workers with appropriate projects when needed, and maintain a productive and professional working environment. The Technician may occasionally be required to and and/or close the facility, perform aircraft run-ups and taxis, and travel to repair aircraft at remort locations or for ferry services. As an Airport Authority employee, it is required that annual training is conducted and properly recorded. The candidate must be able to work independently and keep and maintain an organized, clean and orderly working environment. Company policies and procedures will be followed, as well as all MSDS precautions and state and federal saftety requirements. The Technician must evaluate and assess the safety of all actions, be congnicent that safety comes first at all times. All aircraft will be cleaned after completion of maintenance. Additional duties may be assigned, and overtime may be occassionally required. Must have a current A/P Certificate. Minimum 2 years experience, own basic set of Aircraft Maintenance Tools. 21 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language. Must have a current drivers license with no restrictions and reliable transportation. Candidate must possess exceptional problem solving skills and common sense and have the ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate should be self-motivated and willing to take initiative. Must be able to stand for 90% of the work time, be capable of lifting and carry up to 50 pounds, have excellent vision, and have the ability to wear a respirator per OSHA 29CFT 1910.134 and adhere to all OSHA, EPA and State and Federal Regulations.
