The Airframe Shift Supervisor NetJets supervises the overall activities of all airframe teams and its members and functions as the primary point of contact for airframe related production operations for their designated shift. In addition, this position provides overall prioritization to projects and manpower staffing to meet scheduled and unscheduled airframe milestones; performs maintenance and RII inspections on the aircraft when possible; and assists technicians as time permits. The Supervisor demonstrates and encourages the highest standard in quality and care for customer property including maintaining a professional, safe and organized work environment; and acts as a positive role model to all assigned team members, supporting company and shop decisions, and assisting in communicating and accomplishing shop and team goals and objectives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinates with the management and both inner department and out of department team leaders to accomplish a smooth transition of workflow from day shift to alternate shifts to ensure project quality, minimal downtime and on-time deliveries. In the absence of management, makes operational decisions for all aspects of the Airframe department for the assigned shift. Provides a detailed report of assigned shift’s activities.
  • Provides leadership and direction for the activities of the Airframe team members assigned to them to ensure efficient team operation and proper allocation of resources. Provides feedback when necessary to the appropriate team leader to assist with the performance evaluation and development of all team members on the assigned shift. Conducts regular meetings for shift team members.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the Airframe department with airframe related production operations for their designated shift. Prioritizes and supervises job assignments and works with assistant team leaders and lead technicians to ensure that all work is completed properly and timely with minimal affect to existing aircraft and schedules.
  • Performs aircraft inspections, service, repair and troubleshooting as time permits. Performs QI/RII duties as needed. Inspects work on assigned shift to ensure quality of work and continuity of work flow.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of all documentation, to include work orders and shift turnovers. Assists with final inspection and closing of work orders, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Job Specific Requirements

  • Licenses/Certificates: Airframe Certificate required; Powerplant Certificate preferred; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; Respirator Fit qualified; QI designation; RII eligible; Man Lift qualified; meets requirements for Aircraft Run and Taxi Qualifications tool inventory per department tool list required
  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; occasional overnight or short notice travel required
  • Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
  • Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments

Education and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Six years related aircraft maintenance experience required
  • Previous leadership and supervisory preferred
