Title: Mechanical Repair Technician
Department: Operations
Reports to: Lead

Summary: The Technician is responsible for the repair and modification of customer parts, possible composite repair and modification, and working with team members to ensure quality and efficiency are meet per approved data, engineering, and applicable requirements. In addition, work closely with co-workers of improved methods, practices, and assistance in resolving concerns regarding composites. This individual is responsible for being familiar with structural assembly with sheet metal and composite material.
Summary: The technician performs repairs, modification, and technical work on aircraft assemblies to approved engineering for in-service commercial aircraft.
Responsibilities:
· Repetitive drilling and use of pneumatic tooling
· Rivet removal and installation
·Hi-Lok installation
· Assembly of components
· Aerodynamic sealing and general sealing
· Sand and trim composite components
· Composite panel repair and wet lay up
Preferred qualifications:
·5 years’ experience with composite aero structures
· Knowledge of typical aircraft manufacturing methods and practices.
·Familiarity with aircraft manufacturing tools, tooling, and equipment.
·Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical data.
· Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
·Airframe certification preferred

·Full understanding of composite structures, techniques, and skills required to complete the task.
·Ability to meet schedule commitments and handle multiple actions simultaneously.
·Ability to take initiative as problems or opportunities arise.
·Demonstrates high levels of verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and reasoning ability.
·Excellent skills in multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization of multiple projects.

This position requires the use of vision up close (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), the ability to identify and distinguish colors, peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up, down or to the left and/or right while the eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment: The Composite Repair Specialist performs work in a production environment and may regularly be exposed to dust and heat. Occasional exposure to loud noise (e.g., drilling) and fumes or airborne particles should be expected. Minimal exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals is present. Personal protective equipment may be required.
