Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician 2 in our Salem, OR location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine aircraft maintenance activities, general aircraft servicing, and assist with various scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance tasks while also mentoring Aircraft Maintenance Technician 1 associates.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Maintain aircraft in accordance with current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations
- Perform routine aircraft maintenance activities including but not limited to oil and filter changes, tire maintenance, light-bulb/battery replacements and general aircraft servicing
- Prepare logbook entries
- Mentor less-experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician 1 technicians
- Must be willing to work overtime and work a flexible schedule if needed
- Ability to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years relevant aviation maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education / related military experience and / or aviation related experience
- Must possess an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Rating
- Ability to work as part of a team performing scheduled inspections / maintenance on small and large aircraft
- Ability to perform routine maintenance items with no assistance / supervision
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine discrepancies with limited assistance
- Ability to interpret simple wiring diagrams without assistance
- Must be familiar with Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations
- Ability to tow aircraft and perform engine ground runs on piston-powered aircraft
- Ability to prepare aircraft logbook entries for routine maintenance items without assistance / supervision
- Experience working within Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
- Must possess the ability to routinely bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. while using safe lifting techniques; pushing/pulling equipment up to 200 lbs.; standing and sitting for extended periods of time; kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling; climbing and utilizing ladders to connect cables and walking long distances throughout the facility; repetitive motion; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with aircraft maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet
- Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
