Aircraft Arresting System Technician/ Trainer (Aircraft Arresting Sys)

Job Summary:

As a Technician/Trainer for the Aircraft Arresting System (AAS) at Al Udeid Airforce Base in Qatar, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of the Aircraft Arresting System. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and unwavering commitment to safety. You will lead a team of technicians responsible for scheduling, inspection, and operation of the (AAS); and support recurring maintenance and repairs in support of Power Generation.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:Lead and motivate a team of AAS technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Develop and implement training programs to ensure technicians possess the necessary skills and knowledge.
Delegate tasks effectively and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship.

  • Technical Expertise: Perform and adhere to all applicable PWS requirements, host nation laws, and compliance to all U.S Department of Defense and U.S. Department of State requirements, as applicable.

Possess in-depth knowledge of the BAK-12 and BAK-14 aircraft arresting systems (AAS).
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system integrity and functionality.
Must be able to perform and document inspections, maintenance, and repairs of aircraft arresting systems that meet or exceed all manufacturer’s specifications, and/or applicable references. zero (0) discrepancies allowed. and troubleshoot system malfunctions, implementing efficient repair procedures.

  • Safety and Compliance: Develop and implement comprehensive safety protocols for AAS operation and maintenance.

Ensure strict adherence to all applicable aviation regulations and airport procedures related to AAS.
Train and educate team members on safety best practices.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Develop and maintain the aircraft arresting systems (i.e., BAK-12 and BAK-14) periodic maintenance schedules.

Must be able to assist in the development of local procedures and lesson plans to thoroughly train all personnel (including non-power production personnel) who use, operate, or maintain an AAS to the appropriate task level in the 3E0X2 career field education and training plan (CFETP).

Qualifications:

  • Education, Experience, and required credentials: Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft arresting system maintenance and operation.

Qualified candidate has completed an approved DoD school in the operation and maintenance of aircraft arresting systems or equivalent commercial school.
Must possess a valid/ current driver's license and able to obtain Flight Line Driving Certification
Must have a valid passport and must be able to meet all requirements to obtain residency work visa.
Must successfully pass CENTCOM medical requirements and be fit-for-duty to immediately deploy.

  • Skills and Abilities: Must be able to complete all local requirements for Flight Line Driving Certification during the transition period. The Contractor shall acquire and maintain Flight Line Driving Certification for personnel assuming individual barrier maintenance responsibilities as set forth in this PWS.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with team members and stakeholders, while providing excellent customer service, and ability to multi-task operate under stressful conditions within a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Security Clearance: Secret Clearance Required: US Citizenship is required and must possess and maintain required Secret clearance eligibility for this position while employed in support of this contract.
  • Austere Working Conditions: The candidate must be able to perform in inclement weather conditions; to include heat extreme temperatures.

Must be able to perform job duties in personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
