Job Summary

Position is responsible for responding to patient inquiries, identifying and resolving patient account problems, and ensuring the timely collection of third party and private pay receivables.Job Description

Licenses/Certifications: (None)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • Two (2) years of hospital business office or medical related experience preferred
  • Candidate to have knowledge of business office, patient billing, or collection/reimbursement procedures of healthcare reimbursement preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced high volume environment

Principal Accountabilities
  • Answers calls and responds promptly to account inquiries.
  • Responds to and resolves written inquiries and/or complaints.
  • Appropriately document patient accounts.
  • Reviews department mail, return mail, and address corrections.
  • Analyzes accounts for errors, adjustments and credits for the purpose of issuing corrected entries; updates account information when differences are noted.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
