Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are looking for a 2nd Shift Production Manager (3 pm - 11:30 pm) to be an integral part of the plant leadership team and supervises based on the business and operational needs of the Plant. Supervises personnel within a food processing/production department (fruit canning and fruit juice processing). Responsible for day-to-day operational functions, ensuring accuracy, continuous flow process, maintaining quality assurance, effective and efficient productivity, continuous improvement and departmental achievement towards goals and deadlines set forth. May oversee other department needs as assigned. This leader will be located at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA.

Key Responsibilities:
- Trains and directs in the operation of using various methods, tools, equipment, and technology to achieve 100% accuracy in yield control.
- Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems to ensure plant is operating at optimum efficiency.
- Set and monitor production standards for units produced, product quality, labor cost, employee safety, raw material yields and cost control to ensure all production meets company standards.
- Maintain knowledge of plant quality control, relying on current data and materials use, technological processes, and industry literature. Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, duty assignments and time constraints.
- Supervises employees, including training, performance management and daily work assignments. Includes coaching, performance feedback and initiating disciplinary/corrective action.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED; Associate degree in manufacturing operations, management, or related field preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position.
- At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in the manufacturing industry; food processing experience required; juice processing and/or maintenance experience preferred.
- At least 5 years’ demonstrated experience in supervising a large group of employees; bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn and operate various inventory, materials, and operational software as applicable including technical equipment.
- Ability to work in a high output environment, pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends, typically July to early November.
Compensation:
The salary range is $90,000 - $110,000, based on experience and qualifications.
