Manage packaging & warehouse daily operations and maintain accurate material levels and counts. This is a full-time position that is a key support role for brewery operations. You are responsible for the entry, storage, and withdrawal of the barrel inventory, as well as receiving, storage and shipment of bulk product and used barrels. You are the leader for executing short- and long-term continuous improvement strategies and performance criteria for enhanced warehouse & packaging operations, implementation of corrective and preventative actions to maximize efficiency, development of staff, aligning with quality and safety standards and managing and maintaining the warehousing budget. Write sales orders, issues samples, provide estimates, picking orders, loading trucks, moving finished goods into cold or dry storage, receiving orders. Being organized, orderly, and having the ability to follow instructions are keys to success in this role. Handle all customer service issues including inspections, claims etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Highly organized and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our distribution & packaging operations
  • Inventory Management
  • Ensure daily, timely delivery of distillate and aged product samples to quality lab
  • Coordination with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary materials and supplies
  • Development & implementation of production planning strategies to meet customer demands
  • Supervision of warehouse & packaging staff, providing guidance, training, & performance evaluations
  • Implementing safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies & procedures
  • Develop initiatives to achieve performance, quality, and safety standards and ensure achievement of manufacturing goals
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with other department team members to ensure daily production demands are met, achieve KPI’s and correct issues as they arise
  • Implement continuous improvement actions to close gaps of KPI’s or increase productivity as needed. Lead and/or participate in Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) to solve problems by attempting to identify and correct the root causes of events, as opposed to simply addressing their symptoms
  • Maintain compliance with all GMP, and food safety standards related to the warehouse department
  • Unload empty barrels from trailer to stage for barreling side and top fill barrels or to store for aging
  • Help prep barrels for filling (strap pallets, label barrels with correct lot #, tag barrels with the correct owner, ensure all work performed is done correctly)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement
  • Pulling orders, palletizing cans and kegs, arranging cooler, pull barrels to load shipments for customers
  • Help store/put up barrels in rickhouse & have a keen awareness to product rotation
  • Loading trucks to ship barrels out
  • Set up and monitor yearly calibration check on metering equipment used for loading out bulk shipments
  • Provide information for and adhere to annual departmental operating budget
  • Help keep warehouse and rickhouses clean and organized
  • Follow all SOP’s and complete all necessary paperwork daily
  • Lay out pallets for staging top fill barrels
  • Fill Barrels with Distillate
  • Operate machinery to put barrels in ricks for aging
  • Operating a forklift
  • Operate air brake truck for transporting barrels to different areas of the plant

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years old
  • Associate degree in business management or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in warehouse environment
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Brewery, Winery, Distillery, experience preferred. Strong work ethic and a good attitude required.
  • The ability to perform different tasks each day as required is essential
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to perform secondary mathematics (multiplication, division, percentages
  • Strong attributes in attendance, punctuality, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Must be willing to work overtime & holidays as needed
  • Experience with budgets and proven ability to maintain a cost efficient and effective operation
  • Proficient computer literacy with ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; must have ability to adapt to barrel management software
  • Knowledge of TTB regulations and record retention for: In-bond receipts; barreling operations; production entry; in-bond barrel withdrawal: shipment - domestic and export; bulk shipment – domestic and export, barrel consolidation – export shipment; Removal of casualty barrels form inventory

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience in barrel warehouse storage
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Experience in end of month (EOM) inventory and tank records
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
