Job Summary
Reporting to the President and working in collaboration with the System Vice President of IMG and IMG leadership across the system, the Vice President of Practice Operations will provide strategic oversight for all operational, financial, and administrative aspects of IMG provider practices within the assigned geographic area. As a member of the Medical Center leadership team, this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of the market strategic plan related to the clinic practice. The VP will be responsible for allocating and assigning duties to directors, managers and employees, and monitor the activities and operations of all the practice(s) components to ensure the practice(s) meets its objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partners with the Medical Director of IMG to oversee the operations and performance of the clinic practices.
- Will have daily operational responsibilities for specific service lines working closely with that Medical Director and local supervision.
- Participates in business planning and business development opportunities to increase practice market share to serve the community and patient in which practices support.
- Coordinates with leadership to achieve current initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Point person for staff relations, includes resolving administrative problems.
- Develop, implements and monitors practice budgets including analyzing financial impacts of change and forecast of expenditures. Recommends corrective action as required.
- Meets regularly with providers to review financial performance, compensation and key practice indicators.
- Oversees practice acquisitions and move activities within assigned market.
- Participates in provider recruitment, ensure appropriate provider on-boarding, credentialing, and off-boarding takes place.
- Responsible for working with marketing department to ensure that marketing initiatives are connected with IMG practices.
- Evaluates organizational structure of practices to ensure that providers feel supported and that all levels of administration and clinical staff are aware of organizational goals and objectives.
- Regularly communicate to all providers and staff everything happening in the respective markets to ensue that there is alignment with market initiatives.
- Actively participate in leadership and staff meetings for the Medical Center
- Create and present content related to regional market to system leadership and local Boards and subcommittees
- Participate in various senior leadership initiatives and to drive results throughout the organization.
- Support and promote the mission and values of Covenant Health and the Catholic Health Ministry.
- Other duties as consistent with this role.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in healthcare or Business Administration preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of increasingly responsible leadership in healthcare practice management required.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, providers, patients and the public.
- Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and problem-solving techniques in the decision-making process.
- Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives, including government regulations and compliance requirements
