Experience:
8-10 years of proven experience in Oracle 11g or higher database administration.
Proficient in all aspects of Oracle database administration, including but not limited to installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, query optimization, backup, and recovery.
Familiarity with hardening databases according to DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
Proficiency in utilizing Oracle's database admin tools and backup utilities such as RMAN.
Ability to develop scripts to automate routine tasks and enhance efficiency.
Proficient in network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
Hands-on experience with change management, including maintaining multiple development, test, QA, and production environments.
Capable of proactive database monitoring and effective issue resolution.
Active participation in project design and decision-making processes related to Oracle/database design.
Ability to refine and troubleshoot database designs as needed.
Creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation pertaining to the database and data architecture.
Develop and maintain database design and architecture documentation to accommodate current and future Oracle database requirements.
Capable of providing debugging and code analysis support.
Support implementation of application software releases and related activities.
Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
Experience with other database systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, etc.
Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Certifications (Preferred):
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification or equivalent.
Relevant certifications in network troubleshooting, security (e.g., CISSP), or related areas.
Location: Herndon Virginia (Hybrid- 2 days onsite required in a week)
