We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Trainer to join our team in a contract role. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive written training materials and delivering training sessions to help users understand and maximize the functionality of our software products. The ideal candidate is not only a proficient technical writer but also possesses the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

About the Team: Our team of trainers is responsible for ensuring that the users of our system including state and local child serving agencies, child care and early education providers and workforce, and families can easily utilize our system for processing all early education needs including applying for benefits, finding early care and education programs, reporting complaints, administering licensing requirements, and accessing support such as grants and training.

Documentation Development:
  • Design and create user manuals, online help systems, tutorials, and other documentation to assist users in understanding software functionalities.
  • Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
Training Program Development:
  • Develop training programs and materials for both in-person and online training sessions.
  • Tailor training content to various user levels, from beginners to advanced users, ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new users and continuous learning for existing ones.
Training Delivery:
  • Conduct engaging and informative training sessions for users, either in person or through virtual platforms.
  • Address user questions and concerns during training sessions, fostering a positive and interactive learning environment.
Content Maintenance:
  • Keep documentation and training materials up to date with the latest software releases and feature updates.
  • Continuously improve content based on user feedback, changing technologies, and evolving best practices.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, customer support, and quality assurance, to stay informed about software updates and changes.
User Support:
  • Provide additional support to users through various channels, including forums, email, or live chat, to ensure a high level of user satisfaction.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Technical Writing, Education, or related field.
  • Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in the software industry.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information in an understandable and engaging manner.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and content management systems.
  • Knowledge of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to create multimedia content, such as video tutorials and interactive guides.

Work Environment:
This is a remote position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but candidate must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00p.m. EST Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
Some Travel may be required for this position. Some nights and weekends may be required for travel.
