Employment Information

The Technician will work alone or as a team member in performing inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a large variety of general aviation aircraft. The Technician is responsible for performing assigned tasks on airframe, interior, engine, and associated components, in accordance with current FAA regulations, and appropriate technical manuals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance activities as directed by the lead, Director of Maintenance, or other assigned supervisor.
  • Consult and get a plan of action approved before spending more than thirty minutes troubleshooting the problem.
  • Seek out discrepancies on the aircraft and report them to the DOM or other designee. Write maintenance forms (squawks) on all discrepancies found.
  • Respect the confidentiality of company, customer, and personnel information.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors and other staff members.
  • Demonstrate ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
  • Maintain the work area in a neat and orderly manner. Clean up spilled fuel or hazardous materials immediately.
  • Maintain an awareness of and conform to all company policies and procedures.

Education:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Additional aviation training

Experience:

Required: One year maintaining aircraft

Preferred: 3 years of general aviation aircraft

Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to the customers or employees of the organization.

Physical:

While preforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear. Must be able to sit, and regularly lift and or move up to 80 pounds.
