Overall Job Function:
The Senior Director of Grain Merchandising Origination and Risk Management is responsible for the management of FCS’s grain position, the origination and marketing of grain across all FCS locations, and the financial performance of the Division. Responsibilities include the daily execution of maintaining a hedged inventory position (in compliance with established FCS policies), and profitably managing the ownership of that grain inventory, through setting the bid structure and effectively marketing the position to third parties. These responsibilities include the creation of short term and long term performance objectives/metrics and the successful execution of these plans to meet/exceed these objectives. Responsibilities also include the creation of strategic plans, in conjunction with the senior leadership team, to ensure the long term success and growth of the Division.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, agriculture or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with commodity trading and risk management or related experience in another discipline.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a fast paced office setting. Equipment utilized will be computer, phone, fax, copy machine and other standard office equipment. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 7 to 5. Position will occasionally work outside; exposed to elements, loud noise and agricultural equipment.
Physical Demands:
While performing job functions the employee will be required to talk and hear most of the time. The employee will spend frequent intervals moving and sitting, while also needing to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop or kneel on occasion. The employee will need to be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and 15 pounds frequently. The physicality of this job is low.
