Title: SQL Server DBA
Location: Houston, TX - 100% onsite
Duration: 6 month contract
Compensation: $60-$70/hr.
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

The Contract Microsoft SQL DBA will work on-site and be responsible for routine database tasks.
IE: Database restores, installation and configuration based on provided set of standards. Opportunities exist to discuss improvements to existing methods in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Management of SQL databases in non-production and production environments.
• Able to write/manage scripts in TSQL, PowerShell, DOS batch.
• Ability to work within the confines of a ticketing system.
• Able to assist on any database issues regarding application deployments/changes/functionality in real time environments.
• Support DevOps related database pipelines and Cloud database initiatives.
• Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and high availability issues.
• Database backup/recovery and capacity monitoring.

Qualifications

• 3 plus years of experience in SQL database administration.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
• Experience with other database RDBMs for example Postgres, Redis, Mongo
• Experience in HA/Failover technologies
• Capacity to discuss and implement operational automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible or other scripting languages.
• Experience with DevOps and Cloud Platforms.
• Excellent customer support and problem-solving skills.
• Strong focus on achieving goals.
• Stongwritten and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
