Pinehurst Landscape Company (Glen Arm, MD) is excited to announce a new opening for a Landscape Designer starting this Spring. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for landscape design to see their own visions beign built. With the mentorship of our design manager and collaboration with our design staff, our objective is to develop the next generation of talented landscape designers. This is a special opportunity to working directly with one of the most-highly recognized firms in Central Maryland.

Pinehurst is an award-winning landscape design/build firm, including being voted “Best in Baltimore” 6 times by Baltimore Magazine. The office and operations are based on our 50-acre nursery conveniently located in Glen Arm, Maryland. We are celebrating 60 years as an industry leader in 2024.

Daily Responsibilities:

Working closely with our Production Manager, Sales Manager, & Foremen to ensure we deliver excellent service to our clients. You will help to organize and oversee daily tasks for various teams, providing support and encouragement to team members and communicating with the client.

· Meet with clients for initial consultations. Actively listen to their needs, goals, and/or problems of their property. Present our company’s abilities and strengths and a positive and professional manner.

· Produce budgets, designs, and supplemental imagery based upon project requirements.

· Produce proposals that include the following: 1) Thorough summary of necessary equipment and material, 2) A reasonable budget of time for our team to complete the project, and 3) the necessary profit margin which allows our company to continue to grow.

· Walkthrough with foreman to review scope of work, layout, drainage/grading, and finishing details to ensure a quality job.

· Speak with clients to ensure customer satisfaction

Landscape Designer Responsibilities:

Sales & Customer Service:

· Creates amazing client experiences, resulting in raving fans and strong referrals

· Meetings with existing clients at least once per season to get their feedback. Identifies areas for improvement of our service and potential future enhancement opportunities.

· Seeks and develops new business through encouraging long-term relationships and creating an effective network. Goes after business the company wants.

· Maintains a level of sales required by the annual budget.

· Produces designs and sketches to effectively convey ideas to client and production team.

· Develops cost estimates, proposals, and contracts.

· Answers questions and provide information to clients; investigate complaints, concerns, or warranty matters and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve.

· Reviews and approves project invoices.

· Reviews job cost reports to check on the accuracy of estimating.

· Helps develop and implement systems for improving the client experience, productivity, and quality.

Production & Team Work:

· Sets and example as a leader by adhering to company policy, procedures, and goals.

· Develops and maintains a professional relationship with clients, managers, employees, vendors, and subcontractors.

· Weekly Production & Scheduling Meeting with team to make sure everyone is prepared. Providing feedback on necessary work and time necessary to complete tasks.

· Coordinating and supervising Subcontractors to ensure services are performed and being done professionally and to our Standards.

· Maintains continuing education in sales, horticulture, and customer service.

· Performs related duties as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • landscape design: 3 years (Required)
  • sales: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • MHIC Salesperson License (Preferred)
