Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC has an opening for Senior Database Administrator in Tampa, FL.

Install, maintain, and optimize databases and database infrastructure according to the organization’s business systems development methodology. Work with database users and resolve data-specific problems. Act as Subject Matter Expert on database structures and designs. Assist IT and Business teams on new system implementations. Ensure appropriate backup and restore processes are implemented and utilized. Ensure that data entry, retrieval, change and delete functions meet business requirements for project completion. Conduct research and make recommendations regarding database technologies, development processes, and deployment processes. Ensure proactive monitoring and resolution of issues as they occur. Provide technical support as necessary.

Job Requirements

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Database Management or Administration, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field of study and five years of relevant work experience.

Also, must have work experience in:

• Installing, configuring, tuning and maintaining 1 or more Relational database systems including MS SQL Server and Oracle DB2;
• RDBS data modeling and database structure design;
• TSQL query design and performance tuning;
• Providing leadership and mentoring to less experienced DBAs;
• Understanding of backups, restores, high availability and disaster recovery methods and configurations; and
• Managing projects involving 3 or more application teams over at least a 3-month timeline.
