Preforms the primary function of an RPN in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients on the unit during their shift. Is responsible for meeting the established standards of nursing practice, for managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment on the unit and for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments.
Position summary:
1. Implementation of the nursing processes on all assigned patients
2. Communicates patient concerns and/or changes in status
3. Retains professional accountability for nursing care rendered on assigned patient care unit
4. Maintains clinical competence in providing care to all patients
5. Attends inservice educational programs yearly
6. Assists in smooth intershift transition
7 Demonstrates responsible decision-making regarding patient care issues and judgement
8. Moves and lifts patients safely utilizing appropriate assistance and/or devices.
