Job Functions: The Quality Inspector I provides support to the Quality Control Team and performs routine to advanced clerical, filing and inspection duties. This person will assist with the day to day inspection tasks and additional quality related requests where necessary. The primary task of this individual will be to manually verify dimensional characteristics of physical parts in production manufactured complete, via machine shop floor inspections, or wherever necessary at the NC Dynamics facility. Additional inspection requirements may be added to assist additional departments when necessary. Common duties include and are not limited to:
? Inspecting complex purchased and internally manufactured parts for conformance to customer purchase order requirements, engineering prints and customer specification requirements
? Performing visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections per part engineering requirements
? Use inspection measurement instruments (calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.) to verify dimensions and geometric tolerances for compliance to engineering requirements
? Perform inspection requirements specified on the planning/traveler to allow the product to proceed through the department in an effective and timely manner
? Complete all necessary customer documentation for inspection activities
? Works from engineering drawings, internal and external specifications, quality assurance standards, test procedures, and verbal instructions to determine acceptance of product
? Review and recommend changes to written procedures, as required, to keep them in line with business operations and customer requirements
? Participate in various continuous improvement activities pertinent to maintaining AS9100 quality management system requirements
? Utilize digital filing to document quality records, first article and dimensional reports, and job status, including the scanning and filing of records
? Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged Skills & Qualifications
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
? Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Power point, Word, and Outlook)
? Basic knowledge of machine shop environment
? General knowledge of AS9100 Quality systems and standards
? Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards and concepts

? Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
? Experience with measurement instruments to utilize the proper inspection equipment and methods to determine conformity
? Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
? Ability to communicate with all levels within production and get messages across that has the desired effect
? Strong focus on quality: ability and commitment to achieve total customer satisfaction in the quality of our products, services and decisions, implement systems and processes focused on excellence and continuous improvement
? Strong focus on safety, including personal safety, safety of co-workers, and protection of property on the job in accordance and compliance with company practices, industry standards, and government regulations
? Basic knowledge of calibration requirements/procedures
Education/ Experience Required: High School or equivalent educational attainment required 1+ Years of on-the-job experience at an Aerospace Manufacturing Facility Preferred CNC Machine shop floor or final product physical part manual inspection experience Demonstrated experience with group projects or work-related tasks supporting a collective team effort Experience with utilizing measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gages) will be verified during interview process for all candidates via demonstration exam
