JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer

TYPE: Full Time, exempt

SUMMARY: As a Motivair Quality Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating and improving electro-mechanical assemblies and products, as well as overseeing the implementation of quality assurance processes throughout the product lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Quality Assurance: Ensures that products meet industry standards and customer specifications. Work with quality and production personnel to implement quality assurance and maintain ISO9001:2015 compliance. Develop quality metrics and associated data collection systems.

· Process Auditing: Conducts process audits to assess adherence to quality procedures, process controls, industry standards, and best practices. Recommends changes based on findings and perform follow up verification.

· Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control activities, testing results, and corrective actions. Assist with creation and upkeep of Process Documents – including Flow Diagrams, FMEA’s, and Test Plans.

· Technical Writing: Provides support to Production and Engineering in establishing and maintaining detailed work instructions, manuals, and prints.

· Root Cause Analysis: Utilizes problem-solving skills and advanced analytical techniques to identify the root causes of quality issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, assess countermeasures, and implement corrective actions.

· Product reliability: Collects external data and internal test results to support engineering and provide input into the product reliability program. Recommend process and component improvements based on risk and cost analyses.

· Supplier Quality: Collaborates with the procurement team to audit and monitor suppliers' product quality performance, investigating quality-related non-conformances and evaluating alternative sourcing.

· Training: Provides support to engineering, quality, and production, ensuring consistent application of quality techniques. Foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.

· Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains and contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Applies Lean manufacturing tools and participate in Kaizen events to implement sustainable change.

· New Product Development (NPD) Release: Participates in Product Quality Planning, collaborating with engineering and production teams to approve products for release based on comprehensive quality evaluations and tests. Assists in performing DOE and FMEA’s to select test criteria or quality controls for subassemblies and final product.

· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:

· Bachelors in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

· 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance within an electro-mechanical product environment preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Strong understanding of electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2015).

· Proficiency in using various testing and measurement equipment for electro-mechanical products. Experience in conducting performance or reliability testing is a plus.

· Strong organizational, communication, leadership, continuous improvement, and critical thinking skills.

· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Experience in problem solving techniques; Root Cause – 5 Why, DFMEA, Lean 6s

· Proven history of analyzing data and statistics to improve industrial processes.

· Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.

· Ability to write detailed work instructions, reports, business correspondence, and effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and/or external sources.

.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly sit for extended periods; stand talk and hear in person and by telephone; and use hands to operate, finger, handle and feel office equipment and documentation; and reach with hands and arms. Hands and fingers frequently perform repetitive motion. Occasionally the employee will use arms and hands to balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, stoop or bend and lift up to 25 pounds. This position requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
