Primary Objective of Position

Will work with operators, helpers, engineers, and our customers to make the best extrusion profiles we can. Supervises All of the quality concerns brought up by operators, helpers, engineering and other divisions, as well as outside customers. All AAMA testing conducted. This role will have dotted-line reporting to the corporate Quality Manager.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Works with the die shop and engineering to assist with problem-solving, redesign or improvements.
  • Conduct AAMA certification testing on all twin-screw extrusions: heat resistance, impact, shrink, and weight.
  • Coordinate monthly quality meetings with our operators and helpers to go over quality concerns and get their opinions on improving quality work with our material suppliers to correct problems or to improve on the material used.
  • Work with new suppliers on material requirements.
  • Check incoming material to insure correct color matching.
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment, calipers, force gauges, etc.
  • Assist in training of Operators in various aspects of the Intek QMS.
  • Process ECR’s and ECO’s.
  • Utilize company’s ERP manufacturing system as directed.
  • Process RMA’s.
  • Every employee is expected to support the INTEK Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with our Quality System Manual and Documented Procedure

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or technical degree
  • ASQ certification preferred (certified quality technician or inspector)
  • Must be able to read calipers, blueprints and be mathematically inclined to troubleshoot various problems that arise
  • Experience Quality Control standards and procedures desired
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Effective reading, writing, and verbal communication
  • Working knowledge of quality inspection equipment desired

Responsibility for Work of Others

No supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift (weekly) up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist and carry tools or materials over the course of 8 – 12 hour shift; while supporting 24-hour/5-day per week plant operations.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
