Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist / Assistant Operations Foreman

Department: QA / Feed Mill

Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt / Salary

Position Summary:

A successful QA Specialist / Assistant Operations Foreman will need to be self-motivated as well as be able to work well with others. Strong communication skills are critical. This position will collaborate with production personnel to find solutions to food safety, sanitation, and production issues and will be responsible for helping track these solutions through to implementation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily / Weekly Tasks -

· Environmental Monitoring (collect, ship, manage sample data and trending).

· Finished Product Micro Testing (collect, ship, manage sample data and trending).

· Daily GMP audits.

· Review and File Document Records, including corrective actions as needed.

· Manage and assign master sanitation cleaning schedule tasks and verify completion.

· Manage Food Safety program, identify emerging industry issues and help drive compliance and process improvements.

Monthly Tasks -

· Internal GMP Audits.

· Internal Audits against defined standard (SQF).

· RTD Calibration Checks.

· Formulation Audits.

Other Tasks -

· COA’s for Total Equine (per lot).

· Manage HOLD log and Non-Conformances.

· Collect, review and complete necessary non-conformances for metal from Magnets from Pet Food Mixer Office.

· Contribute in continuing development of food safety training program.

· Other operational duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be authorized to work in the United States.

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

· Must be able to read and understand written instructions and safety rules.

· Must have basic Mathematical skills.

· Must have basic Computer skills, extending to basic Microsoft applications.

· Must have ability to learn how to operate Manlift and Lab Testing Equipment.

· Leadership / Supervisory experience a plus.

· Must have general knowledge of grain handling and feed manufacturing.

· Background in Agriculture a plus.

· Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision as well as work in a team setting.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.

· Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, climb, reach overhead and lift up to 40lbs.

· Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly for the entirety of shift.

· Ability to use eye-hand coordination, repetitive hand movements, manual dexterity and finger dexterity.

· Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation:

· DOE

· 90-day probationary period applies.

· Work schedule will vary depending on department needs.
