About this position

SeeScan is seeking a Purchasing Manager to ensure that we procure materials, supplies, equipment, and services on time and at the highest value. You will be the point person to research and work with vendors, making sure that critical items remain in stock. Our ideal candidate is a savvy and determined negotiator with a proven track record of successful leadership.

Our company culture

Working at SeeScan is unlike working for other companies of our size. As industry leaders with 40 years in business, we have the stability of a larger company while maintaining the feel of a small and welcoming community. Our casual, people-first culture goes hand-in-hand with our focus on the talent and potential of our employees, and our investment in employee success is reflected in the longevity of most of our team – more than half of us have been here for over five years, and nearly a third have been here for over ten. We’ll give you the tools you need to succeed, and we want to see you grow with us.

What we’re looking for

Across our organization, we’re looking for people who embody our values of continuous learning, passion, and fairness. Whether you’re designing the latest tech, building our products on the production floor, or keeping our business running and profitable, we want people who approach problems with a can-do attitude and who are eager to be part of a team. Our goal is to create the best products in our industries – as a privately-owned company, we place excellence first, and we seek employees who will help us continue our trend of sustainable growth and innovation.

In this position, you will

  • Manage buyers from order placement to delivery of goods and services
  • Track and report on key functional metrics to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the purchasing team
  • Track orders and monitor late deliveries and item stocks to ensure that buyers have materials, tools, and equipment arriving on time to meet production demands and schedules
  • Develop, lead, and execute strategies for both production and non-production purchases
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate schedule and quality risks
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships, track performance, and provide vendor feedback
  • Discover and transition to new vendors as needed
  • Become an expert user of our ERP system, using best practices and sharing expertise with others
  • Follow environmental and safety regulations and act in compliance with all state and federal laws
  • Promote corporate guidelines on business ethics and safety

About you

  • Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to learn quickly, prioritize appropriately, and multi-task effectively while maintaining speed and accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Your background

  • Experience as a Purchasing Manager or Supervisor
  • 5+ years’ purchasing experience in the electronics or manufacturing industry
  • Experience with vendor management and partnering
  • Experience using an ERP system
  • Full proficiency with MS Office, with advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience in the procurement of electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), custom cables and cable assemblies
  • APICS Certification a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration preferred

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $120,000 annually.

This range represents a good faith estimate based on the qualifications we expect to find in a successful candidate. Actual compensation offered may be less or greater than this estimate based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, our assessment of your ability to bring value to our organization.

We offer

  • A position within an established company that has 40 years of experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) investment options, with partial company matching contribution
  • Flexible Paid Time Off plan with no cap or “use it or lose it” requirement

In your application, include your resume and a thoughtful cover letter explaining why you are the ideal candidate for this position. We are looking for a long-term, in-house team member to join us, not a contractor or consultant. Local candidates only, please.
