Position Summary

Under direct leadership, the Production Manager, Assembly is responsible for ensuring that Singer Classic vehicles are manufactured and delivered at required production volumes within manufacturing, delivery, quality, and cost requirements in a manger that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.” Reporting to the Director of Classic Operations, this role leads the frontline team that builds Classic cars that shape and represent the Restored, Reimagined, Reborn product experience.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees all aspects of the Singer Classic vehicle assembly departments and leads a team of 80 supervisors, leads, and automotive technicians
  • Working with the Director of Classic Operations, this role translates the accelerated business growth and increased production goals to the frontline assembly and electronics teams by effectively hiring, onboarding, managing the productivity of, and building a high performing team of 100+ automotive and production professionals
  • Manages the Subassembly, Electronics, Final Assembly, and End of Line departments, responsible for production of Singer Classic
  • Ensures all team members are appropriately equipped and trained to safely perform their required daily tasks
  • Manages meeting the current Classic assembly and electronics production capacity and their expansion and seamlessly transitions and ramps up all Classic operations into newly leased Torrance plant
  • Actively leads the Assembly and Electronics teams to achieve Classic production milestones per the operating plan and scalability to achieve long range business objectives
  • Manages Classic production labor cost rates at or below operating plan
  • Implements lean manufacturing principles to ensure efficient manufacturing best practices
  • Creates a safe working environment and ensures workplace safety best practices
  • Demonstrates leadership by working in a cross-functional team environment with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Education/Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Eight (8) plus years of leadership and technician experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced flexible automotive shop environment
  • Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Automotive Lean or Six Sigma manufacturing
  • Experience within luxury automotive industry or equivalent brand industry preferred
  • Automotive certifications highly valued
  • Ten (10) years of experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
  • Prior experience in rapid growth business environment

Skills/Abilities and Attributes

  • Strong data analytics, presentation, and reporting experience with the ability to generate and present information to the organization, including the creation of accurate metrics and narratives describing operating results, root cause analysis for problems, and opportunities for improvement
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, including MS Office Suite
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
  • Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative skills with the ability to prioritize efficiently and effectively within and across departments

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Must be able to travel for business, including occasional travel by commercial airplane.
  • Must be able to work in a seated position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms at computer keyboard for long periods of time.
  • Must have ability to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, push pull, and move with up to 25 lbs. of force.
  • Must be able to inspect automotive parts
  • Must be able to work extended hours or overtime
  • Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record and appropriate insurance limits and/or be insurable under the Singer’s company vehicle insurance policy.

Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is between $111,600 - $139,500 per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
