Role summary

The Production Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.

Compensation

Starting base: $80k - $100k annually

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.

Key Deliverables

  • Understand, support, and manage the manufacturing process by utilizing the ERP system in moving production orders to the shop floor.
  • Understand, monitor, and manage shop equipment and machinery, for both architectural millwork and metalwork of the highest quality. (Rovers, Edgebanders, Fiber-optic laser cutters, metal folding machines)

Essential Duties

  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
  • Lead and train, shop workers on site; on the job training in custom wood and metal fabrication skills.
  • Ensure safety conditions are always in place in the shop and ensure safety meeting requirements are performed as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a Production Manager or Plant Manager in a high-quality manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years experience with architectural millwork and metal fabrication
  • 2+ of process improvement experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with overtime as needed.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in related field
  • Experience with Six sigma, Kaizen, 5s and/or similar methodology
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
