NVR is seeking a detail-oriented Plant Operations Manager to add to our team in Kings Mountain, NC night shift!

Job Summary:

The Plant Operations Manager role encompasses managing and driving process improvement, safety, quality, and employee development.

Shift Available:

  • 10-hour shift, Monday to Thursday, 2:30 pm to 1:00am

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage teams, promoting a positive work environment focused on achieving business goals.  Foster an environment of coaching, development, employee engagement, and teamwork and ensure expectations and results are communicated effectively.
  • Lead operational production planning to meet all shipment schedules.  Develop and execute the agreed upon staffing plan and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Manage an effective flow of communication between day shift and night shift to all levels of the organization, to ensure all leaders and personnel understand strategic goals and performance expectations.
  • Understand and drive the achievement of NVR and Plant yearly business objectives, initiatives, and productivity, quality and delivery goals.  Identify and implement projects or processes to achieve these goals.
  • Ensure a high level of focus on NVR’s Brand Promise by monitoring area of accountability for adherence to quality goals, reviewing plant and department-specific procedures, and partnering with the Customer Service team to modify as necessary.
  • Develop strong working relationships and a regular cadence or communication with cross functional leaders at the plant, to ensure operational and strategic alignment. Partner as needed with other NVR Plants and Homebuilding Operations.
  • Demonstrate an active role in the plant safety program through conducting audits and ensuring leadership is monitoring all personnel for desired safety behaviors.
  • Ensure alignment between production areas and the plant maintenance department to ensure production areas are functioning at a high level and minimizing downtime.
  • Manage key controllable operating expenses and develop cost control plans.  Drive process improvement, throughout the plant, which focuses on results and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in broader company initiatives, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (business degree preferred)
  • MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership or management experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Excellent problem-analysis, critical thinking, and strategic planning abilities
  • Experience communicating effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Outstanding collaboration and conflict management abilities
  • Strong commitment to Customer Service
  • Excellent reliability, with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Focus on driving improvements within the organization and ability to persuade and influence others
  • Ability to coach and develop others to achieve goals and grow
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making, adapting and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to travel to other NVR plants and locations, as needed
