All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Parking Control Officer II classification are responsible for acting as lead over a group of employees engaged in the enforcement of parking ordinances and school crossing guard activities. Responsibilities include monitoring the work of parking control officers and school crossing guards, maintaining work schedules, and occasionally giving moderately technical instructions to staff workers. An employee of this class implements and follows through on general instructions received from higher level supervisors.
Skills (position requirements at entry):
  • Performs the duties of a Parking Control Officer.
  • Effectively monitoring parking control and school crossing activities.
  • Training and reviewing the work of subordinates.
  • Maintaining appropriate records and preparing necessary reports.
  • Communicating effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with associates, staff members, and the general public.
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or equivalent (G.E.D) and experience in parking control and public contact work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as listed above.
Must possess a Valid Kansas Driver’s License. Knowledge of City traffic and parking ordinance and Microsoft Office. Ability to work in extreme temperature.
Salary Range:
$22.83/hr.
