EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or Computer Engineering degree and/or related discipline. Five (5) years of directly related experience in Network Infrastructure, performing systems engineering, or closely related discipline. Minimum of two (2) years of experience or equivalent working as a NOC Engineer or in network operations. Advanced knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), dynamic routing protocols, Cisco and HP switches, firewalls, routers, wireless access points, network access control systems, AAA services, Cisco ISE, Cisco (DNA) Center, and Linux servers is required. Experience configuring, managing, and setting up effective monitoring alerts on SolarWinds or another network monitoring tool and must be proficient with Microsoft Visio. In performing the outlined duties, the NOC Engineer must have the expertise to be able to maintain and support MARTA’s infrastructure. Directly related work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of educational requirement.

SUMMARY
The NOC Engineer position requires advanced knowledge and skill to troubleshoot networks and IP services. Monitor, detect, troubleshoot, and respond to potential network and security threats and server issues; support and provide customer assistance to various business clients; support the integration of new network technologies as required; monitor network, server, and storage alarms; service schedules announcement to network users to troubleshoot issues with local-area network (LAN), wide-area network (WAN) and Virtual Private Network (VPN) infrastructures. Additionally, the role requires configuring internet protocol (IP) networks consisting of switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and network monitoring devices for local data centers and intermediate distribution frames (IDFs) across all MARTA facilities.

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, Cisco Certified Network Analyst (CCNA) certification, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certification required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates will be required to work outside of normal working hours as needed. Must be open to on-going training and certifications, if needed.
