The National EMS Academy is seeking a NEMSA Instructional Developer for our Lafayette, LA campus. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EMS education and a proven ability to design, write, and edit educational materials for use in NEMSA Computer-Based, Virtual Instructor-led, and Instructor-Led training programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with Subject Matter Experts and NEMSA Production staff members to design, author, and deploy continuing education content for Instructor-led, Virtual instructor-led, and Computer Based Training materials.
  • Maintain our existing CBT, and VILT library by conducting scheduled revisions, updates, and reviews of existing NEMSA course materials.
  • Supporting other writers within Acadian Companies to produce high-quality written materials for internal and external publication.
  • Teaching live or Virtual Continuing Education classroom sessions as required.
  • Travel to the Lafayette NEMSA Campus weekly is required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • An associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in Education, Education Technology, Instructional Design, Technical Writing, EMS Administration, or healthcare-related field.
  • Current National Registry Paramedic, Registered Nurse, or other healthcare licensure is preferred.
  • A strong, demonstrated ability to produce written training materials using a writing style that is adaptable to multiple audiences across the spectrum for EMS providers and other medical professionals.
  • Ability to adhere to established standards for educational quality.
  • Knowledge of learning management platforms such as Cornerstone on Demand, and virtual instruction technology such as Cisco Webex, is preferred and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Google Mail, Docs, and Drive is preferred.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to work effectively and efficiently with others.
