We have been retained by our client in Houston, Texas to deliver a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator on a contract or contract to hire basis, working onsite M-F. ( $70.00 - $75.00 /hr, w2). The Contract Microsoft SQL DBA will work on-site and be responsible for routine database tasks. In example, database restores, installations and configurations based on provided set of standards. Opportunities exist to discuss improvements to existing methods in a collaborative team environment.

Duties

• Management of SQL Server databases in non-production and production environments.
• Able to write/manage scripts in TSQL, PowerShell, DOS batch (DOS batch can be learned)
• Ability to work within the confines of a ticketing system .
• Able to assist on any database issues regarding application deployments/changes/functionality in real time environments.
• Support DevOps related database pipelines and Cloud database initiatives.
• Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and high availability issues. Database backup/recovery and capacity monitoring.

Qualifications:
** Must have strong written and verbal communication English skills , including the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• 3 plus years of experience in MS SQL Server database administration. (MS SQL DBA)
• Experience with most of these Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
• Experience with other database RDBMs for example Postgres, Redis, Mongo
• Experience in HA/Failover tech – ( high availability / database failover technology )
• Capacity to discuss and implement operational automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible or other scripting languages.
• Experience with DevOps, or Azure DevOps or Cloud Platforms.
• Excellent customer support and problem-solving skills. Strong focus on achieving goals.

Employment Type: Contract




Hourly Rate: $70.00 – 75.93 per hour (w-2 employment)
