Description:

Use Autodesk Inventor (other design software experience welcomed) in creating, detailing, developing, and modifying models for the heavy-duty industrial conveyor market. You will also prepare drawings & technical documents for conveyor fabrication & installation. You will be working with and under the supervision of fellow Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Create and develop 3D models (parts & assemblies) using Autodesk Inventor.

2. Detail drawings of basic 3D models (parts & assemblies) using industry standard notations for machining notes and weld symbols

3. Perform basic engineering calculations for components in shear, bending and torsion

4. Learn the various processes of the SSI Project Engineering team and seek out ways to improve these processes.

5. Collaborate with Project Engineers & Project Engineers in developing concepts and problem-solving design issues.

6. Become familiar with the various manufacturing methods within SSI and within the industry.

7. Demonstrate an increasing proficiency in the use of 2D and 3D CAD Software.

8. Fulfill any other tasks assigned by the business.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience within Mechanical Design - Design for Manufacturing
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD Software (Inventor and AutoCAD a plus)
  • Experience with MS Office – Word, Excel, Powerpoint
