Materials Manager- Direct Hire- Local client in the Salem, OH area is seeking an experienced Materials Manager from within the Automotive or a similar industry. Must have at least a HS Diploma/GED. Asso. or Bachelors is a plus. Base salary+ an amazing work culture, full benefits, growth potential and a small relo package for qualified candidates.

responsibilities:

Essential Duties of the Role:

  • Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs

Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications

Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures

Oversee distribution of supplies in the organization
  • Control inventory levels and ensure availability of material during emergencies

Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates

Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers

Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.

Assist in forecasting to plan future orders

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working in a smoke free environment
  • wearing steel toe shoes
  • standing for 4 hours at one time

    • Experience level: Experienced
    • Minimum 10 years of experience
    • Education: High School (required)

  • SAP Applications (10 years of experience is required)
  • Materials Management (10 years of experience is required)
  • Forecasting/budgeting (10 years of experience is required) Manufacturing Experience (10 years of experience is required)
