POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager, Program Operations serves on collaborative interdisciplinary teams and provides support to program planning, development, and implementation and efforts to improve program delivery to national and chapter partners. The Manager, Program Operations is also responsible for organizing, streamlining, and delivering program-related training for staff and volunteers and reports to the Senior Manager, Program Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to the development of new programs and program-related resources to support program implementation.
  • Coordinate, develop and lead program-related training for staff and volunteers.
  • Update content for programs, communications, departmental web pages, and other documents as needed based on input from team.
  • Partner with Impact Measurement team to evaluate program, training, and other activities as needed.
  • Provide assistance and support at program events and activities as needed.
  • Familiarity with web‐based platforms (ex., SharePoint, Attendease, Monday.com) and/or capacity to learn new systems and enter data as needed.
  • Manage Continuing Education processes for assigned programs.
  • Manage document retention and storage policies, including templates, policies, tools, and partnership documents.
  • As needed, manage contract review process, collect proposals for evaluation, and communicate with key staff.
  • Serve on internal and external workgroups as directed.
  • In collaboration with Chapter Staff, track program attendees by audience.
  • Contribute to internal and external dialogue that advances AFSP’s approach to delivering programs.
  • Actively collaborate within and across interdisciplinary teams, including teams, committees, and other efforts to support internal processes or goals, promote effective organizational culture, or build AFSP’s public image and brand.
  • Work creatively in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
Experience and/or Training: 1-3 years of relevant professional experience supporting a team and managing multiple work streams. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, critical thinking, verbal/written communication skills. Must be willing to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and collaborate across multiple areas to contribute to the mission.
Technology/Equipment: Expert level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to communicate via phone, email, and video conference on regular basis.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel to meet the team in various parts of the Country throughout the year for large conferences and gatherings (COVID safety will be recognized).
  • Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds and manage luggage during travel.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages.   • Primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings and conference travel.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$68,700-$72,000
22 PTO (vacation, sick, wellness and personal days) your first year of employment (5 additional days 2nd year)
10% employer retirement contribution after 2 years of employment
