Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Operations Management:

    • Lead, Manage, and hold Accountable all aspects of the department and help senior leadership grow the company and the people
    • Oversee the scheduling and logistics of inbound and outbound plant deliveries, pickups, and customer orders
    • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure efficient and effective operations.
      Monitor inventory levels of supplies and capacity of the team.
    • Understand MNI quality and safety goals
    • Manage the CC rack Depot
    • Supervise the shipping department and tag and label department
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure the health, vitality, and appearance of all nursery stock leaving the property and coming in.
    • Ensure transportation assets are maintained.

  • Staff Management and Training:
    • Recruit, hire, and train staff
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff to foster a safe, positive and productive work environment
    • Schedule and allocate tasks to ensure efficient utilization of labor resources.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to staff

  • Customer Service and Sales Support:
    • Provide exceptional customer service delivering the right plant, at the right time, to the right place.
    • Address customer delivery inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote nursery products and services and drive sales growth
    • Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction levels to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
    • Work with the production team to positively impact the company

  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards applicable to MNI operations
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate safety hazards and risks and to keep the area tidy
    • Implement safety training programs and procedures to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among staff

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Business Administration, or related field preferred
    • Proven experience in nursery operations management (5+ years), preferably in a leadership role
    • Forklift experience strongly preferred
    • CDL a plus
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Flexibility to work weekends, and extended hours as needed
