Saratoga Forest Management is an independent sawmill, located in Saratoga, WY and producing premium grade stud lumber. We are the largest sawmill in the area and a leading employer in Carbon County, Wyoming. Accepting applications from drivers qualified to drive 2022 W 900 Kenworth log trucks. Must relocate to Saratoga, WY. This is brand new equipment for Class A Regional drivers to drive log trucks. The job being advertised is for drivers who do not currently have a log truck rig. However, logging truck drivers who can provide their own equipment are strongly urged to contact us as we have immediate openings. This is a dedicated route servicing a single sawmill (no overnight trips).

Job Responsibilities

The log trailer will be loaded by experienced log loader operators. The Log Truck Driver must safely and efficiently secure the load of logs in the woods and drive them to the sawmill. The driver must be able to safely navigate forest roads in a variety of weather conditions. The log truck driver is responsible for maintaining accurate truck logs and load paperwork in compliance with company and, if applicable, appropriate government agency policies.

Perform basic inspections on truck both pre-trip and post-trip and report safety issues to the appropriate party.

Required Skills

Must have a CDL, Class A license, and thorough working knowledge of operating a log truck and log loader and safely driving on logging roads.

Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including standing, climbing, bending, and lifting occasionally up to 50 lbs or more. Exposure to ambient temperatures.

Required Experience

2 or more years of experience driving a log truck within the past 5 years. Drivers who have experience with similar loads (such as water trucks) will be considered. No major DOT preventable accidents in the past 3 years. No DUIs in the past 5 years

Wage

This is a commissioned position with the driver’s earnings based on performance. The successful candidate for this position should expect to earn approximately $28 per hour.

Wyoming has no state income tax, which should be considered when making an employment decision.
