Job Overview: Follow the Burkholder sales and design process to plan and design landscape projects to meet an annual sales goal. The role spends 80% in the office and 20% in the field performing duties.

Job Title: Designer / Sales Representative

Job Responsibilities:

· Utilize Burkholder takeoff process to develop an accurate plan;

· Work with clients that fit a specific criterion and set up meetings to design and sell residential and commercial hardscape, softscape and lighting projects within client’s budget;

· Liaison with Project Manager and Estimator to discuss the start of the project and review the job folder with the necessary details, including project scope, material, budget hours and necessary task to perform the job;

· Prepare conceptual drawings, graphics, or other visual representations of land areas to show project development;

· Act as subject matter expert while working with the Account Managers to answer customer questions and assist with upsells, enhancements and provide high design assistance throughout the project;

· Conduct follow-up meetings with clients to ensure landscape designs are developing as planned;

· Perform project touch points and care calls at the close of the project to determine client’s satisfaction, referrals and review final invoice;

· Track and update all client/designer communication details, project documents and designer to-do lists in CRM daily;

· Research latest products, technology, or design trends to stay current in the field;

· Serve as the role model for the company’s culture and adapt to changes from the leadership team;

· Continuously promote Burkholder as the industry leader in our market area.

Competencies/Behaviors:

· Knowledge of design standards and materials for residential and commercial landscape;

· Knowledge of business and management principles including planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources;

· Self-motivated to keep client engaged and shorten the sales cycle.

· Ability to work comfortably with clients in a friendly and professional manner

· Ability to respectfully, clearly and precisely communicate the details of a project with people inside and outside the organization in person, in writing, by telephone and e-mail;

· Ability to multitask and manage several high priority tasks simultaneously;

· Flexible and can adjust to immediate changes.

Training and Education Requirements:

· 3+ years industry experience and design / sales.

· Valid driver’s license and DMV check;

· Basic computer literacy and experience in DynaScapes and Real-time.

Physical Environment and Exposures:

· Ability to lift 50lbs of material;

· Exposure to outdoors for extended periods;

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
