Landscape Designer

Reports to: Landscape Manager

Job Description:

Landscape Designers are responsible for meeting with prospective clients and generating sales for the landscape department. From the initial inquiry, the design professional should be able to navigate the sales process from the first meeting to any after care from an installation. All proposed sales should be solid solutions to the clients issue. The Landscape Designer should be able to communicate effectively via phone and email, ensuring the operations arm and clients are always clear and in the know. The role will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This role will report directly to the Landscape Manager and assist on various other tasks throughout the year.

Typical Sales:

-Drainage Solution

-Outdoor Living Spaces (Hardscape Patios, Fireplaces, Firepits, Pergolas, etc.)

-Softscape Plantings (Foundation plantings, Meadow plantings, Pool Surrounds)

Responsibilities:

  • Navigate all aspects of the sales process
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Provide accurate information to customers via phone call and email
  • Ability to answer questions and requests accurately and in a timely manner
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Handle multiple tasks and projects at once
  • Handle multiple appointments in a day
  • Deliver sound solutions to clients across a wide range of potential issues
  • Use design software
  • Take measurements, photos and in depth site analysis
  • Presentations of designs and estimates to large groups
  • Take direction and interpret clients needs
  • Be available via phone or in person for on site meetings with clients and project managers.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred
  • Proven Administrative or Assistant experience
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive products
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Plants, Drainage Solution and Hardscaping
  • Knowledge of Best Horticulture Practices
  • M-F work week, some Saturdays required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay
  • Commission pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Rockville, VA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Horticulture: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Landscape Design: 1 year (Preferred)
