Position Overview*

We are seeking a scrappy and motivated Junior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our web application tailored for K-12 education. This position will collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to build and enhance features that enhance the user experience on our platform

Responsibilities*

  • Develop and maintain front-end and back-end components of our web application, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate user requirements into technical solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Implement and test new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across the application stack.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Diligently work to identify and address issues through testing and debugging.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in web development to continuously improve our product and development processes.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the engineering team by actively participating in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Self-starter with a track record of proactively seeking out ways to add value for the engineering team and end users.
  • Strong understanding of web development fundamentals including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with at least one modern front-end framework/library such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Familiarity with server-side programming languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Express.js, or Django.
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Basic understanding of version control systems such as Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Enthusiasm for BrightBee’s mission and a desire to make a positive impact in K-12 education.

Preferred Qualifications*

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT.
  • Previous experience working in a startup or entrepreneurial environment.

  • Cash compensation package ranging from $100,000-$120,000

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
