Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local and national electrical codes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems
- Install and troubleshoot low voltage systems, including fire alarms, security systems, and data networks
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to complete electrical installations and repairs
- Program and troubleshoot logic controllers for automated systems
- Perform maintenance and repairs on high voltage equipment
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure the successful completion of construction projects
- Provide guidance and training to apprentices as needed
Requirements:
- Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license or equivalent certification
- Proven experience as a commercial or industrial electrician
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Strong knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems
- Familiarity with a wide range of hand tools and power tools used in the electrical trade
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on time and within budget
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, coworkers, and supervisors
