HR/ Payroll Manager

Responsibility

· HR functions as needed for hiring, on-boarding, off-boarding, licensing compliance, conflict resolution

  • Update internal policies and procedures under the general guidance of the HR leadership team
  • Oversee benefits and open enrollment programs
  • Compliance and Legal Knowledge: Understanding of Labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Ensuring policies and procedures comply with legal standards.
  • Payroll Processing: Knowledge of payroll systems and procedures. Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing (bi-weekly)

· Experience with multi-state payroll (NY, NJ, CA)

· Receive and audit change data from HR for accuracy and completeness and act where needed.

  • Accurately calculate retro pay, partial pay, and repayments, and benefits deductions.
  • Audit and reconcile each payroll, research, and resolve all discrepancies, and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner.
  • Manages Time & Attendance and employee inquiries.
  • Manages PTO system and employee inquiries.
  • Manages the 401K employee and employer contributions, and loan repayments.
  • Assist the reconciliation of 401K, FSA, and other benefits deductions.
  • Working with internal and external auditors and providing necessary support.

Required Skills / Abilities

· BA/BS in business with an emphasis on accounting/ human resources.

· 5+ years of payroll processing experience with at least 2 years experience as a Payroll Manager

· Familiarity with PayChex reporting platform

· Proficiency with MS Office with an advanced level of Excel

· Thorough knowledge of Non-exempt vs Exempt employees

· Thorough knowledge of income tax withholdings, including Federal, State, and Local taxes

· Thorough knowledge of IRS Section 125, and its payroll implications

· Thorough knowledge of other payroll-related laws and regulations

· Perform duties with a high level of accuracy and detail

· Excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Ability to Relocate:

  • North Brunswick, NJ: Relocate before starting work (Required)
