Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will help to develop programs and processes that achieve a high staff retention rate. The position oversees recruitment process for new staff and is responsible for administration of full hire to retire workflows. This position is expected to have a positive impact on the culture of the company via sound hiring and onboarding practices, focus on training and development programs, and consistent administration of company policies and benefits; and will work to create a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and teamwork focused on positive communications. This is a new position in a growing company and will require some startup coordination. CLT is also supported in partnership with ADP for some workflows. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Essential Functions

  • Posts open positions, coordinates with hiring managers screening applicants, and helps to coordinate interviews as needed.
  • Manages new hire process and onboards new colleagues.
  • Evaluates compensation strategies based on market research.
  • Maintains staff files for new hires, policy sign-off forms, IT inventory management, term and other relevant paperwork, maintaining integrity and confidentiality of files and records.
  • Coaches managers on performance and attendance concerns and helps to document them.
  • Investigates staff issues, complaints, and conflicts and works toward resolution.
  • Develops policy and procedures to better address staff issues, complaints, and conflicts.
  • Manages employee terms and exit interviews.
  • Provides benefits and leave guidance.
  • Initiates and manages workers compensation claims and reporting.
  • Manages unemployment benefits and claim reporting.
  • Helps to identify training needs and coordinate training meetings; maintains training materials.
  • Works with managers on performance management goals.
  • Plans and coordinates staff activities and outings.
  • Participates in project management with senior management as appropriate.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration with three or more years of professional experience.
  • Understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and perform activities with minimum supervision to meet timelines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Adept in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Candidates with lived experience of homelessness, substance use disorder, or issues common to the client populations we serve are encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: $75,000 -$80,000

Hours Per Week: 40 Hours, in person.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
