JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist will lead the daily functions of the human resource department, including (but not limited to) the following areas:

  • Recruiting & Onboarding
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Business State Registration & Business Insurance
  • Contracts Review & Business Compliance
  • General office administration

As a key member of a small but rapidly growing team, this position may wear many hats to support the business, but surely will play an important role in shaping the future of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Human Resources (HR) duties:
  • To facilitate, coordinate, and improve internal processes supporting employee needs relating to human resources, employment, and benefits. This position will assist with:
  • Supports and/or leads recruitment efforts
  • Onboarding of new employees
  • Maintaining and reviewing employee records for accuracy
  • Being a resource for questions relating to pay, benefits, time off, and other similar questions.
  • Supporting managers in approval of timecards, time off requests, annual reviews, job description updates or creation, wage reviews and increases.
  • Supporting managers to resolve employee issues.
  • Supporting managers in the separation process and offboarding of separated employees.
  • Handling sensitive information and situations with discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Help plan, facilitate, and implement continuous improvement projects or ideas as needed.
  • Manage workers compensation claims.
  • Attend relevant meetings, as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Accounting:
  • Enter AP
  • Review credit card statements for accuracy and pursue discrepancies.
  • Business Insurance:
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of business to assist in the procurement, preparation and processing of appropriate insurance. Review and verify insurance policies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Certificates of Insurance (COI): assure maintenance, issuance, compliance with Grant language, and procure COIs annually from contractors.
  • Timely report claims.
  • Support the claims process by gathering necessary documentation and information.
  • Review new/proposed and/or renewing SimplyHome customer contracts insurance clauses for required limits and “additional insured” language. Communicate findings timely.
  • Contracts & Compliance:
  • Maintain and update records of all compliance-related documents.
  • Timely file state annual reports and renew registered agents.
  • Register SimplyHome as a “foreign entity” with the Secretary of States as new states are added.
  • Secure registered agent in the new state as required.
  • Ensure that state contracts, providers contracts, and federal regulatory requirements are met.
  • TN annual Title VI and Abuse and Neglect training in Relias.
  • Annual HIPAA training.
  • State Contract update or reporting compliance.
  • Corporate status (ex: address changes) are reported timely.
  • Monitoring and Reporting
  • Report any HIPAA breach timely.
  • Assist with product recall notifications.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • General Office Administration
  • Maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Manage and maintain sensitive contract and data filing/storage.
  • Ensure the office is well-organized and maintained.
  • Communicate with on-site vendors for contracted services.
  • Handle day to day physical plant challenges and problem-solving.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolving administrative issues.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Mail handling, inclusive of prepping checks for deposit.
  • Ordering and dissemination of office supplies and kitchen stock.
  • Managing the sales and marketing swag and apparel orders.

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing employee benefits.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts, software, and online platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration (or similar education) is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of prior work experience is required
  • Non-profit experience helpful

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Pay range starts at $58,000 / year, and commensurate with experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • HRCI or Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification, preferred
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License
  • Pass Background check

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in an office setting with varying degrees of background noise. Lighting and ventilation are typical of an office setting.
