DESCRIPTION

Responsible for a variety of human resources, administrative, and reporting functions in compliance with all local and federal laws for both RED and Jacknife Restaurants. Assist in applying, updating, and creating all HR policies and company guidelines and ensuring adherence to standards and laws initiated by authorities. Complete Bi-weekly Payroll and advise on all HR related matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic: A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent required. 2+ years of human resources experience, 1+ years of payroll experience.

Preferred: PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. Hospitality experience preferred.

Exceptions can be made for the right candidate, as RED is committed to training the right people.

JOB DUTIES - Essential

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support on all HR activities including employment law, company policies, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Assist General Manager in running bi-weekly payroll in Toast and ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
  • Update and maintain payroll records, including earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax documents.
  • Complete annual ACA reporting and ensure timely filing of 941 reports.
  • Maintain and update the Employee Handbook in accordance with current regulations.
  • Generate job details and offer letters for new hires.
  • Assist in posting job openings, phone screenings, and the hiring process.
  • Oversee the new-hire onboarding process and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Manage employee documents and ensure they are up-to-date and in compliance with regulations.
  • Create and maintain internal reports for audits, anniversaries, birthdays and benefits tracking.
  • Facilitate the employee benefits enrollment process, including Open Enrollment and COBRA compliance.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and maintain documentation.
  • Coordinate and document leaves of absences and maintain accurate PTO records.
  • Assist with employee disciplinary processes and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Assist management with Workers Compensation claim submission through Society Insurance.
  • Update displays of Wisconsin and Federal Labor Law posters.
  • Perform general office duties including sorting mail, filing invoices, and maintaining office cleanliness.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, owners, and staff regarding HR activities, unemployment claims, and other issues.
  • Requirement to travel between RED and Jacknife as needed

  • Payroll experience necessary, experience with Toast preferred.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism during stressful situations and while interacting with employees.
  • Eagerness to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable sitting for extended periods and reading screens for extended periods.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to travel between RED and Jacknife Restaurants, as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
