GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Human Resources Clerk works closely with management team. Promotes consistent application of and compliance with company policies and federal and state laws; and manages the day-to-day human resource functions.

Essential Duties

  • HR/Payroll
  • Facilitates hiring and onboarding
  • Responsible for weekly time & attendance processing
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns and grievances
  • Conduct unbiased investigations and make recommendations for appropriate corrective action. Implement corrective actions and ensure appropriate documentation of actions taken.
  • Document and process employee relations issues, including terminations and performance improvement plans
  • Proactively partners with corporate HR for escalated personnel and employee relations issues while mitigating risk.
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing solutions and coaching managers and employees
  • Domestically, ensures the company maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, internal protocols, and recommended best practices.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Responsible for OSHA recordkeeping, W/C reporting, and leaves of absences, including FMLA, and WC leaves.
  • Handle sensitive team member matters including complex leaves of absences, requests for reasonable accommodations, etc.
  • Exercise care and discretion with confidential and sensitive information Submits First Report of Injury Forms to insurance provider, follow-up medical provider bills and physician notes to insurance provider.
  • Serves as a liaison between the injured worker and the Workers Compensation insurance claim representative; assists in case management responsibilities through injury/claim resolution
  • Coordinates employee recognition and reward programs.
  • Tracks and coordinates employee performance evaluation process.
  • Facilitate open enrollment period
  • Responsible for personnel files.
  • Assists employees and supervisors with interpretation of HR policies and procedures
  • Continuously review policies and practices to ensure compliance and alignment with best practices.
  • Conducts human resources (HR) related training.
  • Updates job knowledge by continual education

Performs other work duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or other related field, preferred. Will consider other educational and work experience.

2-5 years of experience in a Human Resource preferred

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; decision-making skill; excellent computer skills; able to operate various office equipment; auditory and visual skills.

Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.

Fluent in Spanish.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
