Position Summary:
Hiring salary range - $42,515.35 - $46,766.88
Performs a variety of analytical, confidential, administrative, professional level work for human resources services and programs in an assigned area, which may include recruitment and selection, employee and labor relations, recognition programs, leave programs, HRIS, benefits, classification and compensation, policy interpretation, employee performance management process and coordination of projects related to human resources programs.

  • Responsible for the support and administration of more than one functional service or program within the scope of all Human Resources.
  • Coordinates various special projects and conducts analyses, to include procedure interpretation, process flow and re-engineering efforts.
  • Develops, conducts, researches and participates in surveys and studies involving human resources-related programs.
  • Measures effectiveness, analyzes data, and makes appropriate recommendations associated with research results and/or implementation of HR practices.
  • Monitors and audits accuracy of federal, state and College compliance requirements. Interprets, explains, and presents human resources issues, training, policies, and procedures to employees and management to include making recommendations to management on solving business problems.
  • Assists in the development and improvement of human resources programs, policies and procedures, and related activities.
  • Enters or modifies data, writes queries and develops reports from HRIS.
Job Duties
  • Maintains position control and position updates across the College, utilizing HCC's ERP, Workday
  • Maintains College job descriptions, classifications and specifications
  • Reviews employee and manager requests for re-classifications and new positions, gathers information and makes recommendations
  • Performs desk audits of positions utilizing job analysis questionnaires and interview methods for determination of appropriate classification, compensation, skills and abilities and required qualifications
  • Conducts and participates in the completion of salary surveys; collects and analyzes market data
  • Reviews and processes supplemental compensation and payments
  • Conducts internal and external salary reviews and makes recommendations for new employees
  • Assists with special projects as needed
  • Performs other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of prior-related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills, including look-ups, pivot tables and data analysis
  • Ability to conduct thorough research and analysis and write professional-level recommendations
  • Experience with Workday Compensation or other HRIS Software
  • Experience in position classification and market analysis
