Job Brief
The Operations Manager is responsible for the successful operation and administration of Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Food & Beverage. Technical skills related to AV, IT is a plus. The ideal candidate will have previous hotel management experience that provides the required skills such as hiring and onboarding new associates, planning and writing efficient schedules, handling associate relations, training associates both on-the-job, in stand-up meetings and in a classroom setting, ordering and inventory - as well as handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Face of the hotel - positive and professional
Interviewing and hiring of staff
Ensuring all hiring, disciplinary and termination documents are filed correctly
On-Boarding and Training for all team members
Scheduling including responsible for making sure all shifts are covered at all times
Manager on Duty on weekends (3 out of 4 per month) and in the General Manager’s absence
Conduct departmental meetings on a consistent basis with all departments to ensure proper training, awareness of upcoming events/groups and strengthen team culture
Approachable problem solver, demonstrating strong leadership and motivational skills to encourage all team members and offer professionalism with guests
Attend hotel/community events - Business After Hours Events, Chamber Events, etc.
Inspection of guest rooms to maintain 90% or higher guest satisfaction
Generate and Follow up on action items for Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Bar
Manage Inventories - Market, Bar, Linens, Housekeeping Supplies, Breakfast, etc.
Monitor and maintain operational costs in order to maximize profitability
Identify staff learning needs and assist with training/development
Supervise the housekeeping team when the Housekeeping Supervisor is off
Assist GM with Team Performance Reviews
Assess and review GSS. Achieve and maintain GSS goals established by Worth Hotels, LLC
Cover shifts in any department as needed
Be on call 24/7 for questions and resolution of issues
Collaborate with team and leadership team to achieve better results
Other tasks and duties as assigned by the GM or Worth Hotels, LLC
PREREQUISITES:
Must have previous hotel management experience. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Other languages are advantages. Good personality and positive interpersonal skills required. Must have good computer skills. Food Handlers Card and TABC certification are required (or to be attained within 30 days of hire).
