Haul Truck Operator

Responsible for operating a large class articulating haul truck in a high production environment. Must possess a positive attitude to support Company goals and objectives and be knowledgeable and experienced in safe work practices with a desire to be a top safety performer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safe and efficient operation of an articulated haul truck, in a high-production environment.
• Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities.
• Maintain heavy equipment in good operating condition, reporting and logging maintenance requirements or concerns.
• Service the equipment after each shift, including, but not limited to, greasing, fueling, checking, and adding any fluids needed.
• Complete any documentation that is required.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members.
• Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all Company, customer, and legislated safety policies and procedures.
• Always serve as an excellent Company ambassador and Safety champion.
• Perform maintenance that may involve manual labor such as the use of shovels and fire hoses for clean up during plant down time.
• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERTISE

• Knowledge of safe and productive operation of heavy earth moving equipment a plus.
• Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license or greater.
• Ability to be a team leader in all safety aspects of the position.
• Must possess the ability to operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and utilities, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property and utilities in the area.
• Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices associated with heavy equipment.
