Opportunity to join a dedicated team of gardeners on a private, Litchfield County property to maintain large perennial woodland gardens designed by renowned Landscape Designer.

Seeking an experienced fine gardener to assist in all aspects of garden maintenance and keeping green spaces looking A+ at all times. This is a seasonal position for a full-time or part-time gardener reporting to the Horticulturalist and Lead Gardener. We are open to candidates with less experience with a passion for fine gardening who demonstrate a willingness to learn and take instruction.

Responsibilities include:

• Planting, dividing, weeding, mulching, pruning, deadheading, etc. using best horticultural practices.
• Monitor for pests and disease and report findings.
• Monitor irrigation system and report any problems.
• Hand water newly planted trees and shrubs and seeded areas.
• Work in conjunction with other gardeners on large projects throughout the property.
• Maintain neat and orderly work space, and personal appearance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Ideally, 1-2 years of hands-on, gardening experience. We will train.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather for 8 hours per day.
• Must be self-motivated, able to manage time efficiently and execute tasks independently.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds (including up/down stairs and hills).
• Possess a positive, collaborative team driven work ethic.
• Maintain a professional deameanor and appearance.
• Comfortability operating utility vehicle and back-pack leaf blower.
• Having fun and bringing your enthusiasm to the job and team everyday
