Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified person to fill the Infrastructure Engineer position in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The ideal candidate will need to be a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to support classified goals through network development, operations, and management. Responsibilities include recommending and implementing solutions adhering to DAF, DoD, and IC standards. The role involves providing program reviews, schedules, and action item updates, alongside conducting thorough research for policies and processes. Candidates must apply IT security control requirements and ensure compatibility with hardware and software configurations. Furthermore, the position entails developing systems following Information Assurance (IA) activities consistent with Government Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidance. The ideal candidate will employ best practices in information system engineering, integrating networking and processing requirements effectively into organizational systems while adhering to secure design and coding techniques.

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • 10+ years of relevant DoD work experience
  • Perform network development, operations, and management in support of classified objectives
  • Provide recommendations and solutions for implementing programs and projects
  • Adhere to DAF, DoD, and IC standards and government-defined processes
  • Conduct program reviews, schedules, and action item updates by established deadlines
  • Conduct prompt and in-depth research for policies and processes
  • Apply IT security control requirements to protect system data and resources
  • Ensure solutions are compatible with hardware and software configurations
  • Develop systems following Information Assurance (IA) activities consistent with RMF guidance
  • Conduct information system engineering activities
  • Integrate networking and processing requirements into information systems
  • Design, develop, and configure organizational information systems
  • Implement technology requirements using best practices and secure techniques
  • Facilitate engineering design and development of DoD networks and infrastructure. Technical knowledge must include understanding and implementation of cloud and hybrid-cloud systems; NSX-T, VPCs, VPNs, VMs, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
  • Organizational knowledge and awareness of technical goals, objectives, services, and programs, as well as the individual requirements to meet mission requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals to senior leadership to ensure mission success
  • Awareness of U.S. Space Force organizations and echelons of command as it relates to NTSSC customers and stakeholders, programmatic goals and objectives, and mission requirements

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, networking, or related fields and relevant work experience or training may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Security + certification (current / able to obtain)
  • CCNP or CCIE certification

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
