Job Description

The Electrical Helper is responsible for assisting the electrician with the construction, installation, modification, maintenance, and repairs of electrical appliances, apparatus, systems, facilities, and related electronic controls of varying design or complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Helps identify faulty equipment and the parts and equipment needed to complete repairs
  • Assists with the repair of electrical components for facilities including lighting, rollup doors, wiring repair, electrical fixtures, control equipment, etc.
  • Assists with installing/repairing control and distribution mechanisms such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels as well as conduit and wire
  • Assists with testing continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components
  • Assists with disassembling and repairing defective electrical equipment or systems
  • Uses appropriate tools such as multi meter, ampere meter, hand and power tools, etc.
  • Helps repair critical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and complete projects such as electrical hardware upgrades
  • Participates in team meetings and in prioritizing and reviewing work orders to schedule daily work
  • Acquires new electrical knowledge to prepare for future assignments and responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • At least one year of combined training and experience as an electrical helper
  • Must have hand tools required for position
  • Ability to lift and carry products and/or equipment of up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
